Employee Review.....ugh

I have my annual employee review in 1 hour.  I am REALLY nervous.  Here is the issue....

The guy who is performing my review is not a nice man.  He was my "boss" for the past year, but took another job in January.  For some reason he is still reviewing us.  Last year, he made 90% of the the staff cry during their reviews (thankfully I didn't break down....at least in front of him).  What I really find funny is that he has NO IDEA what I actually do on a daily basis (nor does he really care).  I once had a meeting to go over some of my duties with him, and he didn't believe me that I actually did these duties.  He said that they were way above my skill set....and actually said, "Do you think you're the CEO of the hospital?".  HAHA  Seriously dude.  Not cool.  I guess the one good thing is that he is universally mean....he isn't mean to only me ( I mean, I wish he wasn't mean to anyone, but its not as if he likes everyone else and not me).

I've been working in this department for 5 years and all of the doctors I work with value my help, and think I do my job really well.  But unfortunately they don't do anything on the administrative side....that's how I got stuck with this guy.

Ok, so I just got back from my review.  It actually went really well (aside from my profuse sweating....hehe).  I think because I went in there not expecting TOO much from him, I was actually pleasantly surprised that he wasn't horrible the entire time.  AND....it looks like I'll be getting a raise this year.  That will definitely help with all of the wedding costs that are already piling up!!!

When we finished, he said, "Well, you're my last one."  I said, "You should go celebrate then.  Have a beer or margarita....it is Cinco de Mayo after all."  Then he said, "I don't really do that Mexican crap."  HAHA 

I'm glad I'm not always in a bad mood like he is!!!!
