QOTD.....Watch?

Do you wear a watch?

This question seems innocent enough.  A few weeks ago this very question was brought up on an email group that my friends from college have.  People got really fired up!  Adjectives like presumptuous, oppressive, and (almost) ostentatious were thrown out in the conversation!  I guess you could say my friends are interesting ;-)

Growing up, I never wore a watch.  Throughout high school and even college, I sported a naked wrist.  After college, I started wearing one....probably so I would be on time for work.  This actually stuck for a couple of years.  Then, about a month ago, I left my watch at my parents' house.  I didn't wear one that week.....then I decided to keep the streak going.  I went a good 3 weeks without the watch.  This weekend I put it on again, and now I think its going to stay for awhile.  I've become used to it.  I check it quite frequently to keep track of the day's events.  I guess it can be somewhat oppressive...

One very weird thing about my watch wearing......I wear it on my right wrist.  "That's not weird," you say.  Well, the odd thing is that I'm right handed.  I don't know how this happened.  My parents have no idea.  Maybe since I didn't grow up wearing a watch, I somehow missed the "how to wear a watch" rules....or maybe I just wanted to be different ;-)

Have a great day, everyone!!!

  3. I wear my watch on my right hand even though I'm right handed as well. I've worn one since probably high school. I always have it on.

  4. I used to wear a sport watch for the longest time, but after awhile I realized that it probably isn't too professional and I never bought a nice watch so I sport a naked wrist. I sit at a computer all day so I just check the time on there :)
