Happy Friday, everyone! I'm so pumped that the weekend is almost here.....
On to today's QOTD:
Are you a Mac or a PC?
I know some people get REALLY fired up over this issue. They take sides and will fight to the death defending their position. Here is my story.
When I was little, my dad brought home our first family computer. It was an Apple. He was a school teacher at the time, and they got some special deal through the school district on the Apple. I LOOOOOVED it! I remember we had Oregon trail and some dinosaur game....in addition to all of the math games my parents got us.
We continued to be a "Mac" family until I was in junior high school. I was starting to go to more sleepovers at my friends' houses, and we would play games on their computers.....their PC's. I was sooooo jealous. The games they had did not come in the Mac format at that time. So I begged....and I begged....and FINALLY my parents gave in and got us a PC.
I followed the PC path all through high school, through college, and then I started my first job. It was in a research laboratory.....that had ALL Mac computers. As everyone knows, Macs are really good for all the artsy stuff. Well, the lab I was in did a lot of imaging of cells that we were doing experiments on. Hence, the Macs. It really took me a long time to get used to the mouse with one button.....not having the X in the upper right hand corner of my screen...etc. By the time I got a little used to it, I started a new job, and was given a PC. I was right back where I started.
So, I officially declare myself a PC. I'm not against Macs in any way, shape, or form. I just prefer PC's. Maybe its because most of my computer training happened on PC's....ie learning how to use Microsoft office, learning how to use the internet, etc. I do, however, own Apple products. I have 3 iPods (shuffle, touch, and the regular wheel....and yes, I have a specific purpose for all of them ;-) ). Who knows, maybe someday I will end up with a Mac.....it seems to be the cool thing to do these days :-)
I hope you all have a superb Friday, and a great start to the weekend!!!! XOXO

I'm a PC too. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you havea great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a PC and so does my hubs BUT we want a MAC, they dont ever get viruses =)
ReplyDeleteI was all for PC at first too! Up until I was on my 3 PC within 2 years. I've now had my Mac for almost 4 years and have never had a virus or even had it slow down. :)
ReplyDeleteOh the great debate! I am a PC girl for sure! My laptop had a virus this week and I was told I need to just get a new computer instead of putting any money into my old one to get fixed. As much as I would love to get a Mac, I just think they are too darn confusing! I don't think it is worth it to learn a whole new way of using a computer when all I use it for is the internet and email ha!
ReplyDeleteHi - I'm Stacie - and I'm a Mac! Currently, we have 3 Macs in our house along with many other Apple products. My first gen. iPod lasted for a long time - it died almost 2 years ago. My husband thinks it's a battery thing and is trying to fix it.
ReplyDeleteI do have to use a PC for work (they gave me a super heavy laptop - one of my client's Dad makes fun of me every time I cart it into the house). So, I'm well-versed with both.
I'm all about the Macs. Never had any viruses, slow downs, crashes, or any problems. Our first one was ancient. I mean like 7 years old. That's old for a laptop. It works just as good as the first day. We have a newer one now and even though they are more expensive, I think they are cheaper all around. You never have to pay to get it fixed!!
ReplyDeleteI have only had a PC but would love a Mac. I have heard such great things about it for photography.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your responses, ladies! I completely forgot about the whole virus thing. Many of you make a very good case for a Mac. Maybe I'll have to look into one....someday ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a PC girl. My husband keeps saying he wants a Mac, but I'm such a techno dummy that I don't think I'd have the patience to learn new computer skills!
